Yoga & Ayurveda summer retreat

Stepping back from your busy life and being in nature helps you to quiet your mind, open your heart and relax your body. Daily meditation, pranayama and asana practice bring you closer to your true nature and will help you to get into your body and out of your mind. The Ayurveda workshops during our retreat will show you a new way of looking at and understanding yourself and the world around you. You will learn simple and practical ways to live a more balanced life that you can easily apply when going back home. There will be plenty of time and silence for self-reflection, to relax in one of the hammocks, by the pool, in the gardens, take a walk in the beautiful surrounding mountains or go for a short drive to visit one of the beautiful beaches or villages in the area. This retreat is for everyone who is open to learn about yoga and ayurveda, no previous yoga experience is neccesary.

Rose mountain retreat center

The Rose mountain retreat is nestled in the green hills of the Algarve, about a 30 minutes drive from Faro. The center has 48 hectares of land with a beautiful yoga shala, a yurt for meditations and ceremonies, lots of cozy corners and hammocks to relax in, a beautiful garden and a salt water pool. It's the perfect place to completely relax and immerse into nature. The retreat center is created and run by the lovely Melanie and Bas who live in a tiny house on the property with their two kids.

Our program

During this week retreat we will start every day with meditation, pranayama (breathing exercises) and asana (physical exercises). After breakfast we'll have Ayurveda or self-reflection workshops and after that there is plenty of time for yourself. In the evening after dinner we will end our day calmly with yin yoga, nidra or meditation. We observe mauna, noble silence, every day from our evening practice until after the morning practice and we will have one full silent day during this week. Anne will be teaching all the classes during the retreat. 

The food

Marjolijn from La mama gaia will be cooking for us during our retreat. She is a plant-forward chef who is traveling the world to spread her love for food. She is a person of many creative interests and with a background in design and hospitality she is always driven to make things beautiful while creating memorable experiences. Whether that’s by means of her warm appearance or by creating a cozy atmosphere, making people feel comfortable comes natural to her. Creating delicious, colourful and nourishing dishes as a form of love is Marjolijn’s description of heaven.

Accommodation 

We offer single rooms in tiny houses, double or triple rooms and as a budget option we have a dorm.

Dorm for 6 persons (bunk beds) - shared bathroom (ladies only): €1095

Triple room (single beds) - shared bathroom with the single room: €1295

Double room (2 single or 1 double bed) - ensuite bathroom: €1395

Single room - shared bathroom with the triple room: €1495

Single room in tiny house - shared bathroom with 1 other person: €1495

*All shared rooms will be shared only with same sex

Not included:

-  Flights to Faro international airport

-  Transport from the airport to the retreat, we can help to arrange a shared taxi (+/- €15 per person one-way)

-  Travel insurance

-  Extra treatments during the retreat (massages, reiki or personal ayurvedic consults)

-  Tree planting ceremony to compensate our travels to the retreat (€20 per person)

Practical information

The retreat is from Thursday the 27th of June till Wednesday the 3rd of July. The retreat will start at 16.00 on Thursday and will end after breakfast on Wednesday the 3rd of July, around 10.00.

The closest airport is Faro International airport and from there it’s a 30 minute drive to the Rose mountain retreat. We can help to organize transport to and from the retreat center or you can rent a car if you would like to have more freedom to explore the surroundings once at the retreat.
